A hard blow to the face can sometimes crack or fracture a tooth severely. To install the titanium abutment, an oral surgeon will make an incision in your gums. Then a small hole is drilled directly into the bone. The titanium abutment is screwed into place and a temporary crown is cemented over the top to protect it.
In time the titanium implant will integrate with the surrounding bone tissues to create a firm anchor point. Once this has been achieved your Isle Smile dentist can fit you for a crown that will restore the tooth’s presence in your mouth for many years to come.
