Oral cancer is a very serious condition that if left unchecked could result in the loss of life. Oral cancer screenings should regularly be taken to confirm your teeth and gums are not affected. Have you had your oral cancer screening yet with your dental checkup? In the US alone, more than 40,000 people every year are diagnosed with a form of oral cancer. Speak with your doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms:

Oral cancer can often be found at any age in life. The good news is there are a few signs and symptoms to look for to determine if you may have oral cancer. This includes visual oral abnormalities in your face, mouth, neck, and other areas. Within your mouth, check for any unusual lumps, bumps, or wounds that fail to heal correctly after long periods of time.

Other common symptoms include difficulty with daily skills such as eating and speaking. Even swallowing can become extremely painful or difficult. Sometimes, ear pain may be experienced, as well as a feeling of numbness or in your mouth, ears, face, and neck. If you have a sore throat the refuses to go away, that could be another sign you may need an oral cancer screening.
